Proof It Works

I can tell you this business changes lives every single day. But you might be thinking, “Sure, Teri, you’ve been doing this for a while now. Of course it works for you.”

Fair enough. So let me tell you about Janie.

Day 1: Burned Out but Still Wanting More

Janie Collins had been an LPN for nearly twenty years. She loved caring for people, but after years of long shifts, emotional exhaustion, and constantly pouring into everyone else, she knew she wanted something different for her future.

Not because she stopped caring.

But because she wanted a career that allowed her to still help families without sacrificing her own life in the process.

She wasn’t looking to leave healthcare completely. She just wanted to use her experience in a different way.

Janie already understood the healthcare side of things. She knew the difference between assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. She understood medications, care plans, hospital discharges, and how quickly families can become overwhelmed during a health crisis.

What she didn’t know was that there was an entire career built around helping families navigate senior transitions.

And once she discovered it, everything clicked.

Week 1: Discovering the Opportunity

Janie spent her first week researching senior living communities in her area and learning how the placement and referral side of the industry worked.

She was shocked by how many families were trying to figure everything out alone after a hospitalization, fall, dementia diagnosis, or sudden decline in health.

For years, she had watched families struggle from the clinical side.

Now she realized she could help them from the guidance side too.

She began organizing local communities, learning which ones specialized in different levels of care, and understanding what made certain environments a better fit for certain residents.

The more she learned, the more she realized her healthcare background was actually a huge advantage.
